Sometimes you don't even care how you get there as long as you get the three points.

That's exactly how Erik ten Hag will have been feeling yesterday as he secured a huge win against Luton Town. The Reds have now picked up four wins from their last five league games, with the defeat to Manchester City their only loss in that period. Newcastle's defeat to Bournemouth in the late kick-off meant United's hunt for a top-four spot was given a huge boost on Saturday.

It wasn't all good news for Ten Hag as he watched both Rasmus Hojlund and Christian Eriksen pick up knocks in the win. The former was replaced by Anthony Martial on 79 minutes and the Dutchman provided an injury upd

If there are any further developments on the injury front today then we'll bring you them in our live blog along with all the reaction from yesterday's win.

Scholes gives verdict on Manchester United display vs Luton with key improvement needed

Paul Scholes says Manchester United found it difficult to break down Luton Town in Saturday’s 1-0 win but they got the job done by getting three points on the board.

United continued their knack of winning games by a one-goal margin with Victor Lindelof’s second-half strike proving to be the difference. The Reds got the three points but concerns still remain around their displays.

They were limited to few clear-cut chances with Rasmus Hojlund still yet to score in the Premier League. He went off after sustaining a knock after Christian Eriksen was withdrawn in the first half with an injury of his own.

Premier League rule change led to Erik ten Hag's suspension

A Premier League rule change on the amount of yellow cards needed before a manager is suspended led to Erik ten Hag's Manchester United ban.

Ten Hag received a caution on Saturday against Luton Town meaning he has picked up three bookings so far this season. The Dutchman must now serve a one-match touchline ban against Everton after the international break.

Last year, the threshold before a suspension for managers was four bookings but in a bid to crack down on dissent this has been changed. Eight bookings in total will lead to a two-match ban for Ten Hag while 16 will see him sent to a FA hearing.
